Aberdeen is a city in northeastern Scotland. It forms the core of the City of Aberdeen. It is also administrasjonsby Aberdeenshire although it is not located in this region. The city is also the main port in this part of Scotland, and the nation's third-largest city by population numbers.

Aberdeen is often called Europe's oil capital, because it is the center of most of oljeaktiviten the British sector, and the oil industry is the backbone of the local economy. A number of Norwegian companies in the oil industry are represented in Aberdeen. Aberdeen Harbour has heavy traffic of supply vessels serving the oil industry in the North Sea. The airport is the center of a significant portion of helicopter traffic to and from the British sector, and is one of the largest helicopter airports in the world.

Aberdeen has two universities, the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University. University of Aberdeen is one of Scotland's oldest university, founded in 1495.
Aberdeen is home to the country's largest national park, a dramatic stunning coastline and of course the city itself, so there is much to explore in Aberdeen City and Shire.
